Two question for dear author

1. Is there any difference between ' Gaussian derivative' and 'local binary pattern (LBP)' ? Since you used the LBP instead of Gaussian which is used in paper.
2. Why you use LBP, just for easy implementing the ideal ?

It is just a texture feature, so it doesn't matter whether we use SIFT-LIKE or LBP, I think.
