IPv6 detection fails to function on newer Ubuntu versions (probably because of the netplan shenanigans)

My servers show IPv6 as down, even though it is heavily used.
Running the bash client script as I no longer use python2 on the servers.
Sergate runs on a raspberry pi which has ipv4/6 and displays it correctly there.
Not sure if it is of interest, but the rpi's statusdomain uses ipv4 entries only.
