Based on our crash analysis, IOSurfaceAccelerator is actually critical for many core iOS apps, not just screenshots. We've been debugging crashes in Photos app (MobileSlideShow) and found that the texture manager (com.apple.photos.texture-manager-process) is calling abort() because it can't access IOSurfaceAccelerator for:

• Image scaling and rotation
• Thumbnail generation
• Texture processing for UI rendering
• Hardware-accelerated image operations

Many apps like Photos, Camera, and social media apps heavily depend on this component during startup. Without it, they crash with EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) in their texture management threads.

Impact: This affects user experience significantly as basic apps like Photos can't function properly.

If you don't have bandwidth to prioritize this right now, we'd be happy to contribute a basic implementation. We could start with a minimal IOSurfaceAccelerator stub that provides software fallback to prevent crashes, then gradually add hardware acceleration features.

Would you be open to a PR for this? We can handle the implementation work.

Safari requires this for image format conversion, crashes instantly when it needs to convert an image format.
