Huge data traffic even though extension is idle #434

Describe the bug
Even though the extension is not used, just by idling it uploads enormous amounts of data. See screenshot, blue spike (download) is VSCode start, then orange download is cause by the extension.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Install Extension (v2024.3.1), disable all other extensions
- Open a larger repository
- Monitor network usage
Expected behavior
There should not be any data sent when idling.

Additional context
This does not happen in all repositories. I suspect it happens with bigger repos.
Workaround (if any)
Just disabling and re-enabling the extension (without closing VSCode) fixes the issue.
