It's interesting nonetheless to see someone else have this issue as well. I've seen this issue a while ago and assumed it was resolved, but I ran into it again while working on a newer modpack.

After some testing on my end, I found that this crash is caused by a version conflict with MidnightLib, specifically when the library is added to a modpack as a standalone file. Players facing this issue should attempt to disable/remove MidnightLib in their modpack (assuming it isn't needed), and Fadeless will work perfectly as intended.

Below I've provided a breakdown of what appears to be happening.

The Cause: By default, Fadeless embeds MidnightLib 1.8.1, which on its own works flawlessly. However, if a user has MidnightLib added to their modpack separately (specifically versions 1.8.3, 1.9.0, 1.9.1, or 1.9.2), Fabric loads that external version instead of the embedded one.

The Error: It seems these newer versions of MidnightLib have modified or removed the getScreen method that Fadeless mod's config menu relies on. This subsequently results in a NoSuchMethodError exception when a user tries to click the config button for Fadeless in the Mod Menu screen. (Note that while the config button (within Mod Menu) for Fadeless isn't clickable, the configs config/fadeless.json do seem to still work as intended.)

Crash Log Snippet:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a Minecraft 1.21.10 instance with Fabric 0.18.4.
2. Install the mods Fabric API 0.138.4, Fadeless 2.0.5, and Mod Menu 16.0.0-rc.2. (At this point, you can launch the game and confirm to see no issues with Fadeless mod's config button within Mod Menu.)
3. Add MidnightLib 1.9.2 (or any version from 1.8.3+) to the modpack.
4. Relaunch the game and attempt to open the Fadeless config screen via Mod Menu.
