FNCS-Tutorial: error while running the 'GridLAB-D+ns-3 demo'

I'm facing the following issues while running the 'GridLAB-D+ns-3 demo' from tutorial

1. While compiling ./compile-ns3.sh firstN.cc, the following error is displayed
   firstN.cc:17:29: fatal error: ns3/core-module.h: No such file or directory

2. gridlabd ./F1_250_house.glm produces error -
   " ./F1_250_house.glm(102): class 'fncs_msg' is not known"

Both of these issues are related $FNCS_INSTALL not being defined correctly when installing all the software as the tutorial relies on installing all the software being installed at the location $FNCS_INSTALL is defined as which should be $HOME/FNCS-install if you followed the README. remember that simply running env.sh will not keep $FNCS_INSTALL defined in your system. You have to execute . ./env.sh in order for $FNCS_INSTALL to stay defined in your terminal session. I have tried what you have suggested, I'm still facing the following issue (other one is resolved).

1. While compiling ./compile-ns3.sh firstN.cchttp://firstN.cc, the following error is displayed
   firstN.cc:17http://firstn.cc:17:29: fatal error: ns3/core-module.h: No such file or directory
