Grant Management: Create a separate custom object for grant reports or deadlines

I've talked to a few other consultancies over the past few weeks about how they track and manage grant reports and deadlines. Almost all of the have a custom object for Grant Reports because they have clients who often need more metadata about the grant report object than the Activity object provides. It also makes reporting on grant deadlines more straightforward, as well as workflow, rather than relying on specific filters on the Activity object.

+1. This seems worthwhile. The one drawback is that it doesn't end up on your to-do list, get synced to your Outlook, etc. But a user can always hang an activity off of this custom object when they need such reminders.

Suggestion: let's call it something more generic, like Grant Deadlines or Grant Milestones, instead of Grant Reports. Then we can use it for proposal and LOI deadlines too.
