New to 'Recents' and getting "in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given"

I've just installed 'Recents' and I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid, however, I can't figure out where I've gone wrong. I've read through the controller docs but stuck on getting the favourites functionality to work.

Have you seen the issue "in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given" before?

Hi Jonny, sorry for the slow response, I only just checked my emails!

What tags are you using to trigger that error? What's the value of the cookie?

I know this post is over a year old but I had the same error when checking the "All" box under "Sections to track". It passes * to craft_plugins.settings rather than an array of the checked Sections. Checking the individual boxes passes an array and fixes the error.
