Description

On Windows 11 25H2 with Microsoft Edge, the EXE file is blocked before it is saved.

When downloading CodeMade Clock:

  • Edge shows a security warning
  • Clicking "Details" redirects to the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen FAQ
  • The EXE file never appears in the Downloads folder

This does not appear to be a virus detection, but SmartScreen
reputation-based protection blocking unsigned or low-reputation executables.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 11 25H2
  • Browser: Microsoft Edge (latest)
  • Defender / SmartScreen: enabled (default settings)

Notes / Suggestions

This behavior is becoming common on Windows 11 25H2.
Possible mitigations could be:

  • Updating the code signing certificate
  • Providing a ZIP or portable version
  • Distributing via Microsoft Store (if feasible)

Thank you for your work on CodeMade Clock.
I wanted to report this as it may affect more users going forward.
