🐛 Bug Report

Describe the bug
When using Manage Mods from the Installation UI and installing a new mod, the mod is not loaded by the game:

  • the mod does not appear in the in-game Mod Manager (main menu),
  • recipes/items from the mod are not visible in the Handbook,
  • however, the mod is present on disk in the Installation’s mod folder.

This behavior is inconsistent some newly added mods load correctly, while others do not. Right now i cant add any new mod :(

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Installations
  2. Click Manage Mods for an existing installation
  3. Add a new mod
  4. Run the installation
  5. From the main menu, open Mod Manager → verify that the newly added mod is not listed
  6. Load an existing save
  7. Open the Handbook → verify that recipes/items from the mod are not present

Expected behavior

After adding a mod via Manage Mods, the mod should:

  • be visible in the Mod Manager,
  • load correctly into the game,
  • and expose its content (e.g. recipes, items) in the Handbook.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Win 11
  • App version Story Forge 0.6.0
  • Vintage story 1.21.6

Additional context

I installed Story Forge to easily upgrade my game from 1.21.2 → 1.21.6 while keeping my existing mods and verifying compatibility.
Initially, this worked correctly.

However, during gameplay I experienced a power outage (electricity loss), which caused the game to crash abruptly.

After that:

Story Forge would launch, but the Run Installation button was not working. I reinstalled the launcher completely (deleted from program files and app data folders) have a buck up files with word/mod folder on pulpit.

After reinstall, I encountered the following error when launching the game:

System.Exception: Please restart the game. The mod's .dll was already loaded and cannot be reloaded.
Most likely cause is switching mod versions after already playing one world.
Other rare causes include two mods with .dlls with the same name.
---> System.IO.FileLoadException: Assembly with same name is already loaded

After another clean reinstall, the game was able to launch again.
At that point I noticed inconsistent mod behavior:
Some newly added mods load correctly.
Others do not appear in Mod Manager at all.
Example: Firearms mod loads correctly, but Crossbows (installed the same way) does not load and its recipes are missing.
This suggests that mods added via Manage Mods may not always be registered or applied correctly to the installation after reinstall / crash recovery.
