Describe the bug and the steps to reproduce it
The project template does not have a 404.md nor a .gitignore file. Whereas default and portfolio both have it on initialization. Note that the Minimal template does not both. I.e.

I think for standardization, 404.md nor a .gitignore can be added to the project template. It makes sense for minimal to not have it, although it would also make sense to add it to the minimal template as well.
