Stumbled onto this, love the idea

Just wanted to give you that bit of encouragement. Also, we've been using puppet a lot and think its the way forward (after reviewing several solutions), would love to see some of your scripts moved over to puppet, there are plenty already out there as well to collaborate on.

Hey @a-c-m !!! Thanks so much for the encouragement!! Lol this has definitely been a fight getting this guy to run properly :)

At AllPlayers (where I work) we've been using puppet pretty successfully to set up dev environments, but before we used chef + vagrant to build local VirtualBoxes. I'm a bit more familiar with chef, as I've had a chance to write a few recipes for it, but Puppet seems to be pretty well supported, so I think that may be the way to go. I've also taken a look at Salt which seems pretty intriguing and from what I understand much simpler than puppet, although config management isn't its main purpose. Just wondering what Puppet scripts you have seen around. I think I just need to dig in at some point into something existing and contribute in, because managing shell scripts is a pain :)

I've found MASSES of scripts on here for puppet. The problem is more about choice overload than lack of options! I hope to od a blog post / put my finding up somewhere once done.

agreed... One of the things I've been having trouble understanding isn't so much the code - but rather setting up the stack to run the code
