Musicoin is only viable if MC value stays low?

Hi guys,

Interesting project and a brilliant idea!

I'm not very experienced with blockchain and current cryptocurrency trends, but Musicoin got me excited. I've just learned about Musicoin and spent an hour trying to find more information about it. As a developer, I'm very excited about all the things that could be built with this technology.

There's one question I have that keeps me thinking. Do I understand this correctly: Musicoin is only viable as long as MC value stays low?

I've signed up on musicoin.org and noticed that default Pay-Per-Play price is 1 MC. The current price is $0.06/MC. Sounds expensive, or is that just me?

Let's say I want to play 500-1000 songs a month. That is $30-$60!

What am I missing here?

Your findings are interesting but essential. Yes, MC is designed to peg with one playback per coin. But this concept is shifting because more investors(inc. miners) complained this design may dwarfed. So the current motion is to unlink the pay-per-play with 1 MC, instead, it can be faction. One correction, today's price of MC is 0.3x USD, you can enjoy 100 free plays if you listen to verified music.

I will stand firm that, as for me, I say we keep the way it is currently. The reason? The arbitrage that takes every coin down.

This is about supporting music and getting people heard, I would hope. So the value in dollars being even considered makes about as much sense as determining the value of an arcade token. But, I guess that would be what happens when the person goes from the arcade they meant to be in, to the gambling parlor across the way. Let us not cater to investors, but listeners and musicians.
