Stranger Things Season 1 review #5

So this review is gonna be pretty accurate to how I actually feel about the show up until this point, since I just finished the last episode, so prepare.
I'm gonna start with the good things first. I really liked all the characters and how 3-dimensional they felt. It genuinely felt like I was watching something real, which in part was also due to the amazing performance of all the actors, especially Joyce Buyers. She took that role and nailed the fuck out of if. Another thing I absolutely loved was the flashbacks that characters would get in a situation, as if it reminded them of a past memory. It was especially effective in the last episode with Jim Hopper when he went with Joyce in ths Upside-Down world. That whole moment where they were trying to resucitate Will was so emotionally charging, it was really well done.
That's about where the good things end though.
To start off with the negatives, the whole romance going on between Mike and El feels so out of touch with reality for me. Typically romance between kids is temporary since they are still biologically developing the sense of romance in their brains, so for me it just seems fake and exxagerated. That's really about it though. Also why did Barbara have to die mannn 😭🤚
