🪲Long delay loading the Manage Apps selector list

With > 700 apps installed there is a half-minute delay when populating the Manage Apps selector list in Folders or Tabs (and there is no progress graph or activity indicator). Bad onboarding experience (confuses new users who will abort the process because they think it failed). Why is that so much slower than the apps list in Android system settings:

• Can this list be cached and then the cache can just be updated when apps are removed or installed via:

Intent.ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED / REMOVED / REPLACED

If not can the performance be improved by some other means? Also note the long period of high CPU load at launch.
