borgserver v1.2 not working on Synology NAS (Linux Kernel version issue)

Backups failed last night found following in logs

'Remote: Connection closed’

Looking at the container logs on the Synology NAS I found

Fatal glibc error: cannot get entropy for arc4random

Think this is most likely a compatibility issue with Synology because they use older kernel versions (claim is for stability) despite running latest DSM 7.2.x. I expect openssh and Borg encryption is effected.

I have seen Synology users reporting Kernel 4.x with DSM 7.2.x so my guess is that Synology are keeping older NAS modals on older Kernels.

Clearly there is nothing I can do on the Synology front on the Borgserver front I can downgrade to previous version.
I wonder if anything can be done for the borgserver container as there are many older Synology modules in production?

I will see if I can find an alternative package, version to reference for apt or drop the Debian version via ARGS

that's really a bummer, only thing i can think of is building the old version again?

Thanks that’s what I have done temporarily, I had plans to replace my NAS with a DIY NAS only file server and move apps, VMs and containers to separate DIY hardware to give me better control over hardware and software issues.
