Git Credentials for Projects using steps with Script Sources and Template Sources are not being logged in the Git Credential Usage Tab #9823

@Clare-Octopus

Description

@Clare-Octopus

Severity

Not blocking customers but can create release/deployment issues if a customer thinks there are no projects using that Git Credential and they delete it.

Version

2016.1.4020

Latest Version

I could reproduce the problem in the latest build

What happened?

If using a Git Credential in a Project's step I would expect it to be logged in that Git Credentials Usage tab so Project steps can be changed pre-deletion of that Git Credential:

Reproduction

  1. Ensure you have a Git Credential setup.
  2. Create a Project with a Run a Script step or a Deploy a Bicep Template Step.
  3. Fill in the Script or Template source to use a Git Credential and choose the one from Step 1.
  4. Check the Git Credential itself and go to the Usage tab, see no projects are using that credential.

Workaround

No workaround at the moment, just need to be mindful when deleting Git Credentials.
