Gate software is suitable for BNCT simulation? #737
Description
Gate software has demonstrated excellent simulation reliability in radiotherapy involving photons, protons, carbon ions, and other particles. However, is it suitable for conducting research on BNCT technology?
Specifically, when bombarding a Li-7 target with a 2.5 MeV proton beam, we consistently fail to obtain neutron information (GATE V9.4.1 ). Could this be because the neutron energy is relatively low (thermal neutrons, superthermal neutrons), preventing the simulation program from tracking such secondary particle information?
