Description
I tried splix 2.0.1 on a Manjaro Linux system with a Samsung CLP-315 printer (detected and configured as CLP-310) connected via USB.
I noticed the following issues:
- colors are not correct: magenta looks more like red, blue (cyan) is too dark, so is probably yellow
- the printout (A4) is shifted by ca. 4 mm to the right which prevents things on the very right side of the page to be printed
(I did a comparison with the output from the driver provided by Samsung/HP available at https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SL-C4010ND/uld_V1.00.39_01.17.tar.gz)
The first issue might be caused by the following:
INSTALL says one needs to download http://splix.ap2c.org/samsung_cms.tar.bz2
However, http://splix.ap2c.org is unavailable, probably due to a CDN issue for that site.
I managed to download the file as a 2017 copy from archive.org, but at least that one does not contain any files for the CLP-310 (nor CLP-315, but I think it's the same anyhow).
For the second issue I noticed that the CUPS test page lists the Media Limits as "0.42 x 0.42 to 20.58 x 29.28 cm", whereas with the Samsung printer driver the test page says "Media Limits 0.44 x 0.44 to 20.56 x 29.26 cm".
