Describe the feature you'd like

My server has been loving this mod but the audio quality, even when set to high leads to some distortion. I'm not sure if this is a limitation within Minecraft itself, but it would be great if we had higher audio quality options. The distortion may be an effect of compression since the downloaded audio files have high bit rate and sound good when played outside of minecraft. So maybe using some better compression could fix it. If there's a way to do this myself in the config files or something with the current build for 1.21.4 please let me know.

VinURL uses the audioplayer implementation of Minecraft itself, therefore the distortion you notice has something to do with Minecraft itself.

I thought so. I did some quick research on OpenAL used in game, and it seems like it can't handle high bit rate audio, so applying some compression before feeding it to the game may lead to better quality (so OpenAL doesn't have to handle it). I noticed switching between Low/Med/High quality in the GUI barely makes a noticeable difference, while the distortion remains, so if the audio download was properly compressed to around 180-200 kbps, it might sound better in game. This is just an educated guess though, let me know what you think.
