Can't run appimage, nor the .deb install.

I'm running debian 12 (bookworm) Gnome.

I've tried downloading the appimage, and installing it with gear lever (or running it standalone) and it exits without running. I have also tried installing the .deb - it installs, but again doesn't run.

running the .appimage from the command line exits with this error.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about appimages or packaging in general to provide any meaningful feedback.

I'm having no problems at all with the android install (via f-droid). It really hits the sweet spot for a (markdown) note viewer/editor for my use case. I am very grateful for it. Thank you very much.

It would be nice to run the same app on the desktop, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Do you have FUSE installed? It is required for running AppImages.

Just as a note/warning to others. No criticism implied. I didn't do my due diligence, and just looked at a quick dirty install of fuse 2 on top of my existing fuse 3, interwoven with gnome and my desktop.

I'm now working from my laptop while I rebuild my desktop, as somewhere in the process a whole plethora of critical files got borked/uninstalled/purged.

Yeah AppImage is weird why they just dont have an easier way of installing their dependencies.

....indeed. I am now looking at deprecating appimages, as trixie effectively has. If I can't unpack them, or build through other means, it's not worth the edge case issues.

Can you run lld --version and tell me what version you have?

Looking online undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_pointer points to glib being outdated or broken.

I tried it on a fresh debian 13.2.0 VM and I didn't have any issues with deb nor appimage, for appimage I only needed to run chmod +x printnotes-x86_64.AppImage to make file executable and sudo apt install libfuse2 to install fuse2, didn't run and tests with fuse3. It worked on version 2.41 of glib BTW.

I just make the app and use tools like fastforge to package for linux, I myself don't really know how the process works, yes I daily Fedora, but I am not a linux wizard.
