List of initial feature requests I plan on adding once I have some time to make the app a little more self-host friendly.

• Setup administrator account automatically
• Allow enabling/disabling of account registration
• Allow enabling/disabling of guest access.
• Admin page for creating user accounts with passwords
• Add ability to reset your password once logged in

Where can I find the admin area?

@familienchaos There isn't a dedicated admin area. Currently moderation options exist in the context menu's of what you want to moderate. So right now just Posts and Comments. Any other settings are handled through environment variables during setup (see docker-compose.yml) and if what you are looking for isn't there then it doesn't currently exist as an option.

Hi @ShaneIsrael do you mind me posting a couple feature requests here?

1. By default the map seems to be zoomed in as far as possible so it appears as a white box.
   

2. The image location is set as the devices location at time of posting the image. This isn't great if you go to an event/location to take photos and the post when you get home. Is there any way to adjust the location when posting or after posting?

1. I updated this in the latest version release.
2. So this is a restriction on mobile devices, specifically android and possibly ios devices. When selecting images rather than capturing them with your camera in the moment, if you use the default image selector they strip the exif data from the image before it is passed to the browser/app so I have no way of getting that data when using the default image selector. But on Android (not sure on ios) when the default image selector is opened you'll notice a "3 dot context menu" in that menu if you choose "browse files" and select your image from that, the exif data will not be stripped and Snapsmaps will use the location saved in the image data.

It's a bit dumb, but thats the only way to get exif data from an image now due to Google's changes last year.

2. What a frustrating limitation from Google/Apple but that's fine. It could be nice to default the location to the location from the image but still present the user with an option to change it because my DSLR doesn't capture location data so most pics land up at out home location.

I've been playing around with Snapsmaps for the last few weeks and it's really great but the location information is very frustrating. Would you consider including a location editor/selector (similar to Instagram) as a way to solve for Googles location privacy changes?

Currently most of my photos are posted at my home location which is 1. Inaccurate and 2. a privacy concern.

@thatguy-za I can and probably will but I don't know when. The idea behind Snapsmaps was to be a tool for travel where you would want to share either the photos location or your current location where you are taking the photo. An in the moment tool which is why its fully mobile supported and can be installed as a PWA. Posting photos through it after the fact and not in the moment kinda goes against the core idea behind it, since that basically makes it an Instagram lite.

So while I'm not against adding that, I'm not super motivated to add it right now since it kinda goes against the core philosophy of what I was trying to build. Basically, if I do decide to add it the feature will probably come after I get around to getting these first set of features out that I listed which is not likely to be soon.

If privacy is a major concern for you right now, I'd recommend using a different app since it sounds like Snapsmaps isn't quite what you are looking for since it is all about sharing your photos locations in the moment, rather than after the fact.

@ShaneIsrael So I've been using Snapsmaps for a hot minute now, I do have one feature request given this is meant to be used in the moment. Multiple photos for one post a la Instagram where you can kinda flick thru, so say I went to Disney or something and took a bunch of pictures, being able to dump them into one post with like a limit of 10 pics each would be cool. I know there is a collection option, but that is not quite what I'm asking for.

@diabolikal1 This is definitely not a bad idea and something I've actually had in the back of my head for a while. It would just take a fair bit of dev time to implement. Nothing crazy but would take a fair bit of time. So I'll keep it in mind and once I've got time again to spend developing some features this may be one of the first I work on.
