Having trouble with HTTPS

I am not able to connect to gitlab over HTTPS from a linux (debian 64) client running Sublime Text 3. The error I get is:

GitlabIntegrate.gitlab.requests.packages.urllib3.exceptions.SSLError: Can't connect to HTTPS URL because the SSL module is not available.

I installed this package with Package Control

Can you post the full stacktrace from the console when you get this error?

This one will take a bit for me to troubleshoot, simply because my only linux machine is currently buried away in a box somewhere. Once I dig it out and get it hooked up I should be able to do a better job of looking into this. Until then, from what I'm reading about this kind of issue in Sublime, GitlabIntegrate just won't work over SSL from Linux, unfortunately.

As far as I can tell, this is an issue with Python on Linux not being compiled with the SSL module. Since Sublime uses its own Python installation, there's not a lot that can be done about that. There are apparently some workarounds, but right now I don't have any way to test any of them (namely, I don't have a gitlab to access over https; I also don't currently have a running Linux installation, but that's just a matter of digging out my old desktop and hooking it up).

Otherwise, if someone can has a gitlab I can access over https that they can give me a repo on to test this with, that'd be very much appreciated.
