2FHey does not paste when using CopyClip

When I use 2FHey on Brave, and when CopyClip is enabled, then 2FHey succeeds in grabbing the authentication code from messages but I cannot paste it into a website. I can open CopyClip manually and notice the code is there, and that it is the most recent item. To complete a log-in my workflow must go as follows:

1. 2FHey gives me the green notification that code has been copied.
2. Open CopyClip and see the code is the most recent item in the clipboard.
3. Manually choose it from CopyClip menu.
4. Manually paste it into the website using cmd-V. Note, CopyClip's cmd-0 does not work at this step either.

When I disable CopyClip then 2FHey works as expected. I wonder if there is some conflict when there is more than one app using the clipboard?
