wkhtmltopdf no longer bundled to new Debian/Ubuntu versions

There are alternatives to html2pdf generation that are better maintained / not abandoned.

In 2021, the reply was that it was "the only library for generating PDF files that is needed to meet the functionality expectations" ( Originally posted by @GSadee in #329), I am wondering which functionality expectations this would be because having used all 3 libraries (wkhtmltopdf , dompdf, html2pdf), I can't immediately think of any.

It is no longer being packaged for Debian 12/13 and Ubuntu 23+. I managed to install the Debian 12 package on Debian 13 by resolving dependencies manually but this is a dead end street and the dependency on an abandoned library should be removed.
