poisoned not working

poisoned enchant is not working I am pretty sure it used to because me and my friend fought and I kept getting poisoned from hitting him and now it all of sudden stopped working. also when I try to runecraft with it I put it in and nothing appears. p.s. I also noticed that if your put an enchantment book in runecrafting (and item) then switch out book it will still add first books enchant.
