No "Game Over" feedback or restart options after player death #514

Description

@Haaruuns

Description:
When the player’s health reaches zero, the death animation plays correctly, but no “Game Over” message or restart options are displayed. The player remains on screen with no feedback or instructions on how to continue, restart, or exit.

Test steps:

  1. Start the game (any level or Lara’s Home).
  2. Allow the bats to attack until Lara’s health bar reaches zero.
  3. Observe what happens after the death animation finishes.

Expected result:
After the death animation, the game should display a “Game Over” message or menu with options such as:

  • Restart level
  • Load game
  • Exit to main menu

Achieved result:

  • Death animation plays as expected.
  • No message or menu appears.
  • Player remains stuck on the screen with no guidance on what to do next.

Environment:

  • Platform: macOS Sonoma 14.6.1
  • Version: OpenLara (macOS build – OpenLara_osx.zip from GitHub releases)

Bug severity:
Medium, because it affects gameplay flow and user experience

Additional Notes:
The health bar and death animation function correctly, but the lack of feedback can confuse new players. A game-over screen or restart option would improve playability.
