Permission escalation

Erbele version prev to 3.11.1 asked for a password to save a file that you dont have permissions. But in 3.11 "Authenticate" button doesn't works. And in versions after 3.11 there is no "Authenticate" button. Just message that i don't have permissions to save a file.
Is it bug or feature?

It's intended that it has been removed, because of issues with this feature after one of the latest macOS updates.
As I don't know if it can be solved with current macOS security architecture, the button remains removed.

Do you know any other application which has such a feature and works with current macOS, then please tell me.

With Fraise 3.7.7 on MacOS 26.2 Tahoe, when you try to save a system file, the authenticate button allows you to save the file but Fraise hangs at that point after saving the file. I just force quit fraise and restart it.

Please don't report bugs related to old releases. Fraise 3.7.7 was released in 2017!
Also, as I mentioned here, I no more maintain this project. Feel free to provide a bug fix via pull request, then I would integrate it.

Entschuldigung, Your 'readme' says there are many better editors now, but I haven't seen one with a better search and replace than Fraise, so I still use it. There are many text editors outside, which you can choose from. As a Fraise user, you could give these editors a try, depending on what you need:

• CotEditor => maybe most "similar" to Fraise/Erbele, but more modern and under maintenance
• Zed => universal, fast, lightweight
• Visual Studio Code (many plugins, advanced tooling for developers). Best for web development.
• Intellij Idea Community Edition (many plugins, advanced tooling for developers). Best for Java/Kotlin development, but also to work with git and many other tools.
• Obsidian: if you work with many Markdown files to write your Notes

Personally I mostly use "Devonthink Pro" for document management and writing notes, Visual Studio Code for web development, IntelliJ IDEA for Kotlin development and Obsidian to manage my notes and knowledge. Zed sometimes, if I want to open a single file.

At least Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ provide excellent search/replace features for whole projects and single files.
