Remove the alphabetically sorted by group

I am not sure if it might be clearer to remove the alphabetical sorting of parameters and instead preserve the original order from eg, MOM_input.

Here is one example I recently generated to do a comparison between the 25km and 100km configurations of OM4.

MOM_input isn't a namelist so doesn't have groups - I guess you mean "parameters" in the title?

I'm not sure how this could work if you tabulate several files which have the parameters in a different order. Which order should be chosen? Maybe the order of the first file?

Correct. The order of the first file.

The changes are quite straightforward: it’s mostly just removing some sorted calls in nmltab.py. Happy to open a PR for you to review.

ok I'll have a look. Might be good to have an --unsorted command-line switch so sorting is retained by default
