DAM Integration - Asset Updates Not Syncing To EDS

There appears to be an issue with assets being updated/replaced in the DAM not being reflected in EDS.

In AEM if we replace an asset in the DAM and then publish it, all of the references/links across all pages automatically render the replaced asset.

I did this today for the Code Of Conduct PDFs on https://www.shredit.com/en-us/about/social-responsibility/policies-and-positions. As you can see all the links are rendering the new version of the PDFs with the WM logo.

On the EDS page - https://main--shredit--stericycle.aem.live/en-us/about/social-responsibility/policies-and-positions the changes are not reflected. It's still showing the old version of the PDF.

How do we fix this so that if assets are updated in the DAM they are automatically updated in EDS? This is one of the main reasons why we wanted the DAM integrated with EDS.

@colinvlasak so you just have to update the links in each page; so for example, you'd just have to go in the DAM, copy the pdf links into the appropriate places,

Then additionally, change the placeholder to the image reference from the DAM as well.

@MarquiseRosier can we work to ensure these are properly linked? Why is there a disconnect? One of the main reasons why we wanted to get the DAM connected was for this reason. It makes asset management so much more efficient because we just update the asset in the DAM, then it's updated across every page that references the asset. This is how our DAM currently works with EDS. That way if we update documents and imagery and they are referenced on 50 pages, we don't need to manually update 50 pages.

I think this is because DAM integration was an afterthought in this entire process. I forget who brought up DAM Integration in the first place, but it was definitely when we were well beyond half past the process of migrating shredit.com. We're paying for that delay by needing to go back and update what we want to be updatable by the DAM. The good news is once, we update everything with the corresponding DAM content, then it should update whenever content changes occur in the DAM.

For now, we need to go back and update all the documents we're interested in having a tight integration with DAM changes.

@colinvlasak I just wanted to understand something. Have you authored PDFs here using DAM? Currently, it seems that the PDF link corresponds to a file in SharePoint, not in DAM.
