Linkages table in VMapper

The automatic detection of linkages did not work well for Lori's data and did not work at all for Brian's data. Is there a way to suggest a Main Table or Treatments table that all (or most) other tables should be linked to?

In Lori's case, most tables are linked with the same three variables: site, year, and plot. VMapper chose the fertilizer table to be the main table and linked other tables to it.

I don't know if this is related to the issues with the duplicate variable error.
