Description of the problem

Hello AltV Team, 👋

I hope you can help me. 🙏 It's about a thing that a lot of people have problems with in GTA 5 and that is very low FPS with AMD CPUs 📉, from 7 pm ingame time. here is an AMD post that describes the matter in more detail and shows that other people also have these problems. 👍

This problem has existed for over 5 years and is present in GTA 5 online, Storymode, FiveM, altV and RageMP. It only occurs on systems that use certain Ryzen CPUs. There are numerous other Reddit and AMD forum posts about this. I hope that you can fix this. During the day I always have over 160 FPS on the AltV Server iam playing on ( Corleone City ), but at night when I move outside or inside the city I only have 70-90 FPS when I look in certain directions. (For example, if I'm at the FFA point and look in the right city, my FPS just drops to 90-70 and when I turn around it goes to 160, this is the same everywhere on the map and many other people also have the problem, as you can see in the AMD forums and on Reddit).

more info

  • Strong FPS drops occur from ingame time 19:00, exclusively on some AMD Ryzen CPUs ( more often in combination with a complete AMD system ) ( as far as I know this is related to the Zen architecture and that GTA 5 was not optimized for it at all, I have also heard that LODs from Cayo and the casino also play a role there, but I'm not sure about that )

  • My PC specs:
GPU: RX 7800 xt 16gb Vram,
    RAM: 32 GB ddr5 RAM 6000mhz
    CPU: Ryzen 5 7500f
    sufficient cooling

  • there are even mods especially for this problem, maybe you can deduce from these what the problem is:

Proof videos, recorded on Corleone City by me

  • Day FPS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbWRPTyq6Ow

  • Strong FPS drop shortly before the time change to 18:58 (this remains so until it is 12 o'clock or so again, or rather the night is over): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuyvfBA9SiQ

  • Night FPS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY4kih3uS4A

  • No Direct helps a bit to counteract this fundamental GTA 5 problem, but I still feel a sharp drop in FPS compared to 18:30 ingame. (this can't really be because nothing has changed graphically compared to the day FPS video and you can also see the sharp drop in FPS from about 19:00 in the 2nd video, note the clock at the top left).

  • I had previously played on a FiveM server called Gaminglife and there I had exactly the same thing from about 19 o'clock ingame time.

  • I am also willing to give detailed answers for further questions in text form or in the VC. I am also willing to do further tests if you want.
