Any tutorial how to setup the global rules, edit tools or context providers?

Would you say it is a look and feel issue?
can you try with other look and feels?
you can tell the model: "change the look and feel" or "give me a popup with all available look and feels so i can try a few"

For project rules. The anahata.md file that should show up there in an Anahata folder in your projects view for each project.

For global rules: You can either say: "write this on your notes" or "add this to your notes" (there is a notes dir in the work directory, in ~{user.home}/.anahata/ai-assistant/notes). that works if you run the gemini-java-client in standalone mode (in that notes dir, the model can also store things like "how to connect to the tv in the kitchen"). The notes dir works whether you run it standalone or you run it as a netbeans plugin

In the work dir, ({user.home}/.anahata/ai-assistant/) you can put a startup.md if you want all chats to start with a given content like: read your notes on... I dont use it, i would rather put the important stuff in anahata.md

Context providers can be enabled or disabled in the ContextProvider tabs
You can set the permission for tools on the Tools tab, those permissions persist across sessions (they are global), whatever you set on one session is what other session sees.

As a temporary workaround. you can always tell the model this: "Change The look and feel to FlatLaf Light" or "Make a modal swing dialog where i can try all installed look and feels and catch any exceptions that happen as i try. let me know if any look and feels throw any exceptions when set"

@MichalGasparovic Just a small clarification: Where you asking about how to make your own ContextProviders or tools? or how to change permissions / enable / disable the installed ones?

on the last update i put something so the model can give people a little tutorial about the plugin if you said "how does this plugin work", but the model can enable and disable context providers himself, the only thing it cannot do is change the tool permissions.

I havent tried any other AI coding assistants or AI agents, just so you know. I am not sure what you mean by "edit tools" do you permissions and stuff like that or the source code of the tools itself?

like would you like to edit the source code of Files.readFile for example or add your own tools, not sure what you mean. If you are refering to a feature in claude codex or vscode or cursor or antigravity or open code or intellij or anything like that, i haven't used any of those but if you tell me what you need, it shouldnt take long. We are here to serve

While we are here, if I may ask:

Any suggestion for tool responses and arguments in tool calls, would you rather have them with the current blue/over blue for tool call arguments "linux shell green for responses" and "red over red" for errors or would you rather just have everything minimalistic like white over black without any actual colors (all just shades of black and shades of white)?

I am preparing a version with a little dropdown to have some "look and feel" options and detect that the user is using a "dark" one.... looks like i burnt all my quota for today, hold tight, because it is a very valid and valuable point that you are making.

I am thinking to have two dark versions: one just black and white, one with "colors" like in the above screenshots, with a little dropdown to try other themes

and then the same one as it is for people on "light" look and feels

With something to "autodetect" the user is using a "dark" look and feel.

But you can still have it white, even if the installed look and feel is dark.

Does the dark colored version "look bad"? you can be blunt. We are working for the community

Getting there, nearly but i burnt all my keys for today it seems

Ok, small update @MichalGasparovic

fixed in standalone gemini-java-client 1.0.14 and added a drop down to choose look and feel and a ton of look and feels,
redrew the icons that look bad in dark mode
added a theme combo and it should autoselect a dark theme if it autodetects a dark look and feel

testing it a bit on netbeans and will update you when a new nbm is available

If the Vibrant Dark Theme is the most horrible thing you have ever seen and the minimilist is too boring, I can do a Barça One or your favourite soccer team.... or we could to a Tylor Swift one
