Is the FluidDial compatible with the MKS DLC32 (V2.1 or MAX)?

MAX (wrong ESP32 type) is not compatible with FluidNC. The FluidDial can be be hacked onto the MKS, but it is not recommended. Wiring issues can destroy both the controller and the dial. We recommend using the connection kits and compatible controllers.

Will the MAX be supported someday or is it impossible to get fluidnc running on this specific ESP32 type?

I saw this and am thinking of using it on my CNC Mill which I bulid some years ago with the MKS DLC32 (not Max), which works almost okay with the MKS-Firmware. I am thinking of getting a DLC32 Max for it or staying with the DLC32 and would love to have a Pendant Dial... Is you adapter board also compatible with the DLC32 (not Max)? At least it hat I2C...

There has been a lot of work on ESP32-S3, but so far we haven't released anything. It is going to be a substantial support burden and we are already overwhelmed with people wanting new stuff and handholding with old stuff. DLC32 is especially troublesome because it is cheap, so lots of people want to use it and ask for help, but MKS does not support the project in any way. So we effectively act as an unpaid support resource for a third party.

Is it possible to use a FluidDial Pendant (with CYD) and a tiny OLED in the Board at the same time?

If anyone is still interested in this topic, I managed to connect a CYD FluidDial to the MKS DLC32 v2.1.

After flashing FluidNC on the MKS DLC32, the EXP1/EXP2 display connectors and the corresponding IO pins routed to EXP1/EXP2 are free to be used for other purposes.
So I connected 5V and GND on EXP1, and IO23 and IO19 on EXP2 to the CYD (2432S028R).

Here is the connection between the pins on the MKS EXP1/EXP2 port and FluidDial highlighted.

Then I just added the following lines to the FluidNC configuration file (config.yaml or whatever the filename of you config file is):

uart1:
 txd_pin: gpio.23
 rxd_pin: gpio.19
 rts_pin: NO_PIN
 cts_pin: NO_PIN
 baud: 1000000
 mode: 8N1

uart_channel1:
 report_interval_ms: 75
 uart_num: 1

I haven't done any exhaustive tests yet but I was able to move around the tool on my CNC with FluidDial.

I only had some struggle to make the FluildDial firmware work with the CYD (ESP32-2432S028R), but that's a different story and has nothing to do with this topic.
