Hello,
the button mappings seem to be different on Linux compared to Windows. As a reminder how the buttons are mapped in Windows: https://imgur.com/ecqQgQv
In most games this isnt an issue and solved with a bit of manual remapping in the game. Even though it would be nice to have parity with the windows mappings because a lot of games have pretty sensible standard configs for the g27 implemented. So it would have a nice little QOL aspect.
But eg Dirt Rally 2.0 doesnt allow to remap all actions. "Confirm" and other menu controls are greyed out and cant be edited. Well and confirm is _hard_mapped to Button "18" (ingame, its button "17" in oversteer because they count from 0/1 onwards). Which means that i constantly need to shift into sixth gear to navigate the menus. It isnt ideal...
Just to be sure: I'm not demanding a fix or anything. I just would like to know if there is any way to remap those buttons globally outside of games. I already tried to search for a solution and read through several arch wiki pages for a few hours. But atleast i cant find a way on my own.
CachyOS with KDE if that matters.
/Oh, yeah idk if this fits better here or into the new-lg4ff discussions. I havent tested thoroughly if new-lg4ff remaps any buttons but i dont believe so.
