You know how your entities were spawning way too much. Even at a spawn weight of 1 they still somewhat take over. They were kind of drowned out in the normal ocean biomes with other modded creatures but not when they are by themselves. I was testing by adding them to other biomes like the stony shore to see how they spawn. And they took over there relentlessly. And I believe I found the reason. If you look at other mods that add mobs the creature in a certain range of the player and no more appear until the player moves out of that range. Your mobs continually spawn within the range of the player.
There are other weird things I noticed like your creatures not being compatible with fishing reel when a datapack is made except for the clam?
Idk but for spawning I would take a look at the code of other mods to see how other people generally do it.
