Expand only the hovered tab ?

I would like to suggest that, in the "auto" mode (when the bar is partially hidden if not in use), only hovered tabs would expand, not the whole bar.

The "new tab" button and associated options (search box, etc.) could do the same obviously.

Bonus: instead of being animated like an expanding bar to the right (which takes too long IMO), the tab could instantly pop up.
