Unsupported devices that do have a touchscreen: fr955, fr165 #1

I have found this promising application and am really keen to try it out. Unfortunately, commit 9fcc06f removed my Garmin Forerunner 955 from the list of supported devices claiming a missing touchscreen.
This is correct for the fr255 models. But not for the fr955. In fact, it does have a touchscreen (which I also did not know until I had the watch in my hands). According to the the Garmin product page, also the fr 165 should come with a touchscreen.
Would it be possible to support these devices again?
