exportRegions fails with unclear error

Hi David,
current dev branch version, exportRegions fails with the following:

Exporting regions with wc state ...Error in basename(names(ranges)) : a character vector argument expected
Calls: exportRegions -> gsub -> basename
Execution halted

This error message does not help diagnosing the problem; I pass strings ("character") as datapath and file parameters, but apparently, something else is expected (or it is not what I think it is...)

Following our discussion, maybe the docs could be clarified (i.e., it has to be the "/data" subfolder), or the function could automatically check for this subfolder

(assuming that this is the issue...)
