Laptop as Charon device

In theory it could be possible to use laptop as Charon device. It means laptop's keyboard and screen would be utilisied for Charon needs. Then the Charon-Laptop will be sending messages / keystrokes to the host computer. Very niche usage, I think, but cool project. And handy for development of Charon itself ;-) The missing bit here is, that laptop needs to be visible by the host computer as HID device. For sure it could be done with RP Pico in between, but other options are worth considering.

Some thoughts

• direct connection almost certainly impossible. The Charon device would need to have hardware support for acting as HID gadget - which is more than unlikely. Try ls /sys/class/udc or dmesg | grep -i otg. If anyone reads this and knows laptops that could support that - let me know ;-)
• RP Pico would a be good / easy "in-between" device, but Hasu USB-USB converter could be repurposed for it greatly as it has perfect form factor. It's built on top of 8-bit ATmega32U4, though - that can be rather challenging for Rust (experimental target only). No issue with C, though.
