CIFS module causes C720P to reboot

The latest C720P Stable channel update seems to break mountcifs script, because whenever I run the the script, it causes my entire system to hard reboot. I'm guessing that the kernel was updated and that current build of the module(s) are no longer compatible. I made sure to use the change-kernel-flags script to enable module loading. I'm not sure how else to diagnose the problem, as just running the command causes a hard reboot and I'm unable to find any logs to aquire further information.

Update: I can confirm that building the modules as described at the crouton wiki and placing the cifs.ko and md4.ko into the /usr/local/modules/x86_64_3.8.11/ directory allowed them to be loaded properly.

In case this helps other people, I've attached a gz with the new modules I built. I have no idea if they'll work with other chromebooks, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to share.
