Try this. Emulator Name: MAME Another option is to add the rompath to mame.ini. Later, I will try it myself. |

That seem to work fine with the few games I've tried, also seems ok for retroarch mame_libretro core Before I forget, I spotted that systemname is case sensitive, so "PlayStation" does not match "Playstation". Had me puzzled for a while! |

Hi
The latest version works very well, however I have noticed that the emulator location is now checked before showing the games in the system folder- this affects emulators that run via batch file such as SCUMMVM
Previously you could leave the emulator 1 location blank (as indicated in the wiki), but now you cant
Using scummvm.exe for the emulator 1 location seems to work - maybe any exe would work just so the location isn't blank?
I also use batch files to run laser disc games via Hypseus and pointing the emulator location at hypseus.exe seems to work ok
[cid:f4a1d0f2-7f1c-4c01-a23d-fa6c67c7447e]
for example, the Dragons Lair.bat file looks like this:
@echo off
cd ..\emulators\hypseus
hypseus.exe lair vldp^
-framefile "vldp_dl\lair\lair.txt"^
-ignore_aspect_ratio^
-fullscreen^
-bank 1 00110111^
-bank 0 10011000^
-fastboot^
-volume_nonvldp 5^
-volume_vldp 20^
-bezel lair.png
exit
Hope this is of some use
Roy

Hi
Just thought I would let you know that I have been using the latest version since it was released and have had no issues at all !
I have a couple more wishful suggestions for you to consider/dismiss:
1.
Could there be a way to run local files that are associated with (and have the same filename) as a system game? e.g.
*
Manual
*
Walkthrough
*
Video
*
Screenshot etc.
2.
So in the same way we have an images folder containing [systemename]/[gamename].png
We could have a manuals folder containing [systemname]/[gamename].pdf
These would run with whatever the file extension is associated with, maybe from a right click on the game in a context type menu?
3.
A global search would be great e.g. a search for "mario" would return all games from all systems containing that string, it would also be really nice to be able to use some logical operators such as AND / OR / NOT e.g.
("mario" OR "luigi") AND "usa"
and to save those search criteria with a name
4.
I very much like the system summary information that is displayed when a system is selected but no filter is selected
Maybe when no system is selected (i.e. when the program first starts) we could have some global information e.g.
*
Total Number of Systems: 35
Total Number of Emulators: 13
Total Number of Games: 17,411
Total Number of Images: 21,280
Root Folder: E:\Retro Games
Root Folder Disk Size: 1.04 TB
Those are my figures above, and so far I am not experiencing any slow-downs when selecting systems or filters or when scrolling through games
Thanks again
Roy

Hi
Thanks for the new version 2.14.3.0
It seems to be having a problem checking the emulator parameters, as below:
[cid:4dff41c1-f9b9-4d51-8ecb-4118e86f768c]
These parameters used to work in the previous version
Everything else seems to work fine, the global search is great although I noticed that if you enter multiple words, e.g. mario luigi it returns all filenames containing mario or luigi (putting in quotes "mario luigi" seems to make no difference). The search speed for 17,000 games is good
Thanks
Roy

Hello Roy,
I have released a new version that includes most of your requested features.
I could not put the Global Stats in the Main Window because it would freeze the UI if the user has a large collection of games, so I created a new window for it.
I have introduced many new functionalities, so there may be bugs. If you find any, please report them.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi
Just wanted to say thank you for your continued development of your launcher, I have had no adverse changes since installing
I very much like the inclusion of Favourites, and wondered if there was some way of highlighting them on the main game display?
E.g. With a heart symbol in the top left of the image or a different background/border colour to the image
A very minor thing - when I apply an upgrade, I lose the values I have saved on the Edit Links screen
Thanks again
Roy

Hi
Really like the new look themes, the latest update is working really good for me
Can I make a couple of cosmetic suggestions?
1.
Can the next and previous buttons have the highlight colour as the background fill colour. This would balance with the highlight bar at the top of the window
2.
Can the cover image frame in the main display be amended slightly? The gap between the frame and the image could be reduced a little, also the game name text under cover image is maybe slightly small
3.
Don't know if this is feasible: at the moment the frames which hold the cover images on the main display appear to be square. However the cover (box) images for switch tend to be taller than they are wide, whereas snes images tend to be wider than they are tall. I wondered if it would be possible to have a per system setting which sets the proportion ratio of the frame eg height/width for the switch system could be set to 120% but for snes it could be set to 75% with a default of 100% (square). This would make the frames better fit the covers of different systems
Thanks for your continued work on this
Roy

Hi just wondered if you have any ideas for hiding bios files in Mame? My initial thought was to delete any associated images for the bios files and then use the option to only show games with covers. However as this setting is across all systems, I would then exclude games from other systems that dont (yet) have an image, and need to swap back and forth
The next idea I had would be to have the bios files as zip format and the game files as 7z then only look for 7z, but I'm not sure if this could break something in the emulator?
Lastly just on the "show games" option would it be possible to have 3 options?
i.e. games with covers / games without covers / All
Thanks
