Ruby 2.4's string capacity #1

The list of issues here was so empty, I just had to create one ;-)
On first sight one would think, that this library is no longer that useful when using Ruby <= 2.4. Because of the addition of String.new(capacity: INT) which seems to be exactly your use case.
Am I correct or is there something that I would have seen, if I had looked into what the library has to offer?
If it's true, then maybe adding that to the README is a nice community gesture. I could do that if you're not getting there first.
