Unable to get to the Debugging Information

What Happened?

The Epiphany issue template at gitlab.gnome.org currently requests the following information:

• Epiphany version (from About Web in the main menu):
• WebKitGTK version (from About Web -> Troubleshooting -> Debugging Information):
• Distributor (Linux operating system, Flathub, Epiphany Tech Preview, etc.):

Because the "About Web" menu item was removed in this flatpak, we're unable to get to About Web -> Troubleshooting -> Debugging Information.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the "Web" app
2. Open the main menu (cog wheel), and look for "About Web".

Expected Behavior

We should, at least, be able to get to the debugging information. The CLI doesn't expose it.

Now that I got the latest GNOME Web from Flathub, I can see it's also missing the About Web menu item.

But looking at the upstream code and commit history, I don't see any indication that it has been removed.

Because this is still running on elementary after all (with user data and settings shared between the two versions of Web I got installed), I think it's a good idea to test it again later on another computer running Debian GNOME.

XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME flatpak run org.gnome.Epiphany should show the "About Web" menuitem.

Thanks, that works. I think it's a good idea to, at least, put that in this repository's README. Something like:

# Debugging Information
To get debugging information (for upstream bug reports):
1. Run `XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME flatpak run org.gnome.Epiphany`
2. Open the main menu and find the item _About Web_.

Or alternatively submit a feature request to the upstream about providing a way to get the same debug information in CLI.
