System updates get stuck on checking for updates "Finished" #391

What Happened?

After using Elementary OS 8 for a while I've encountered this bug that seems to happen randomly for no reason. The System Settings app checks for updates and it stays on "Finished" forever, it doesn't matter if the system restarts. I really wouldn't like to reinstall my system. (I know the packages can be updated via terminal but I prefer having my system error free)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Check for updates on the Settings app.
  2. The update status might stay on "Finished" and won't change.
  3. Watch as the settings app auto checks for updates on login making it stuck on "Finished" every login.

Expected Behavior

After checking for updates, if found none it should go back to the usual "Up to date" status as always. For some reason this can happen randomly out of nowhere.
