Add to watchlist not working (620 <none> error)

Hello,

For a couple of weeks I'm facing an issue with Elementum: I cannot add titles to watchlist. I get "620 <none" as Elementum notification. I tried reauthenticating my trakt account, but no change. If I remove the trakt account, I get "601 not authorized" as an error instead of "620 ". What seems to be the problem?

Using CoreELEC with TMDb Helper interface.

@bloodhand1990 Hello. If you use TMDb Helper interface (instead of elementum interface) - then you add to watchlist in TMDb Helper, thus elementum is not involved here anyhow (you use elementum only as torrent client). so you should ask in TMDb Helper repo.

if you really use elementum's interface and elementum's context menus - then log file is a must.
(btw, i do not understand why people ignore our issue template. we can't read minds, thus log file is mandatory, it is not some kind of whim.)

also, did you check if trakt is alive right now?

Thanks for you reply. I performed a hard reset of CoreELEC and restored my working backup. Unfortunately, right after that trakt is down for maintenance, so can't test further.

I will try to add to watchlist from Elementum itself. I will come back tomorrow with results.

@bloodhand1990 i think you are experiencing issue in TMDb Helper (not in elementum), since we have different format of error message.
but please share the results of your tests when trakt is up again. thanks.

So I just tested within Elementum itself to search for a movie and when I add it to watchlist it's the same Elementum "620 " error (it appers in the corner, i'm using Arctic Horizon 2 skin).

I think I found the cause: 420 is HTTP error for Trakt limit exceeded. I guess this is because I hit a number limit of items in the watchlist, I have a free non-VIP account. This has to be the issue, if you confirm this, then I'm sorry for opening the issue.

@bloodhand1990 i do not have such issue. i also have free non-VIP account. see my screenshot. i added movie to watchlist and then i can see it in watchlist.

depending on size of your country and your ISP you can have so called "shared" (with many other people) IPv4 address (it also called "gray" IP address) - then you can see such errors like "rate limit exceeded" (from various services, not only from trakt).

my ISP also uses "shared" IPv4 addresses, but i share my IP address with relatively small amount of people, so trakt do not limit me.

but this is not elementum issue.

i can suggest you to change your IP - reboot modem (to get a new "shared" IP), or pay to ISP for static (aka "white") IP, or use VPN.

420 is the error code on Trakt API for list limits - https://trakt.docs.apiary.io/#introduction/verbs
You can use other list, instead of collection or watchlist.

@antonsoroko I tested it more, it comes from the limit of 100 titles in the watchlist of free account. If I remove one title and add another, it works.

@elgatito Thanks for the info. I am planning to do that and then integrate it in TMDB Helper. But maybe you have any idea how to add this other list on the context menu of TMDB Helper so I can directly add any title easily, the same way I do now with the context menu item "Add to watchlist".

I thought if I could edit somewhere the path of the context menu command "Add to watchlist" to not point to the default Trakt Watchlist, but to a custom list instead, then I could ditch the default Watchlist which is limited. Of course I would see also the watched titles in that list, but I won't be a problem.

What I also thought is ditching the Trakt lists completely and use the Elementum's local library instead. Then I can use the "Add to library" command and make widgets from that library. Of course, I would also see titles I've already watched, but I could remove them manually from the library.

Any ideas?

better to ask this question in "TMDB Helper" repo, because we (as people) are not connected to "TMDB Helper" anyhow.

a. iirc - all list are limited now. also number of lists also is limited. see https://forums.trakt.tv/t/freemium-experience-more-features-for-all-with-usage-limits/41641
but maybe they changes something. check their news.

b. if you ask about "TMDB Helper" - ask in their repo :-)

c. if you ask about elementum - we do not have such feature, but it can be implemented. if someone (like me or @elgatito ) will be interested in such feature. i do not use lists very much, tbh; maybe elgatito does.

you also can use Kodi library if you add elementum's library folders to Kodi as sources (and enable integration in elementum's settings).
so it should be easier to work with widgets, i guess.

Watchlist / Collection / User lists - are very different and have different API. As far as I recall, tmdbhelper supports user lists. Elementum can sync items into Kodi library from the same list that you'd use in tmdbhelper.

Thank you for you replies.

I fiddled a long time ago with Kodi library, but I could only get titles as folders and within folders a streaming file or something like that. So no fancy cover or details about the title, that is being done within TMDb addon. But Elementum library is showing as it should, I can access it from the Elementum addon main menu.

I tested more and the context menu items do not come from TMDb helper as I thought, but from Elementum addon self. I deactivated all context menu items from TMDb and the remaining options still show up there, so there are from Elementum. There I have the "add" options: "add to watchlist" which adds movie to Trakt Watchlist via Elementum addon (there I got the 620 error, corresponding to reached 100 titles limit of Trakt free account) and "add to library" which adds movie to Elementum library.

So my question was where I could edit the path of "add to watchlist" context menu to point to an user list of Trakt instead of the official watchlist. But because it seems user lists are also limited to 100 titles, then it doesn't matter anymore, there is no point of using Trakt lists anymore because of the limit.

So I guess I will stick with the Elementum library, use "add to library" to add titles to that and make TMDb widgets from that. The only problem is that as soon as a title is being marked as watched, it will remain in the Elementum library and it wouldn't be automatically removed like it happened with the Trakt watchlist. Maybe it won't even show up in the Trakt history widget I use, but I have to test. Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem, I could ditch the Trakt history widget and relay only on Elementum library for both watched and unwatched titles in the same list, the watched titles get a green ticked symbol and I can use that as an indicator between the two categories in the same Elementum library. I would then use the Trakt history and my progress for TV shows.

So there is no need to ask questions on TMDb helper repo, I only use TMDb for the interface, all the widgets and commands are made from within Elementum addon itself.

I will come back after more testing these days.
