Will it work on nest g3 with latest firmware?

Just got my new NEST theromstat g3 with latest firmware several days ago.
I would like to know if this tool works ? and is it possible for me to revert back to the original firmware after root ?

Well, this is a great question. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any generation of Nest at the moment, nor do I know anyone who does. There is information here and there when it comes to gen 1, but it seems most dev/hacking/reverse engineering stopped about 2 years ago.

As for reverting back to the original firmware, I believe the next Nest update will overwrite any SSH changes, unless there is a way of maintaining persistience. To be honest though, I wouldn't run this on your production Nest G3 unless some dev has done it first -- having a bricked Nest wouldn't be fun...
