Description
Hi there!
I wanted to open this issue to help future builders of this great design!
A number of parts have been withdrawn/changed slightly by manufacturers, so I'm sharing this list of BOM alterations I've made in the hopes that it will help anyone attempting to build this great PCB in the future :)
Manufacturer notices
Below is a (potentially incomplete) list of part notices affecting this project that I've come across when sourcing parts:
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
Murata GR* Capacitors |
A number of the GR* series capacitors from Murata used in the BOM have been discontinued - see notice (via mouser). I've proposed alternatives - all from Murata - that are as close to 1:1 replacements as possible. Note: C115, C179, C185, C186, C190, C194, C196 - although GRM series - don't seem to be affected by this withdrawal. |
Panasonic EEF-{HX, CS, CT, CX} withdrawal |
The Panasonic EEF-{HX, CS, CT, CX} capacitors are NRND; see notice (via mouser) |
| Cirrus Logic P/N changes | Fairly easy, just a part number change from the manufacturer for the CS5381; see notice (via mouser) |
| LEDs | The Panasonic LEDs used in the BOM are discontinued; see notice (via mouser) |
BOM alternatives
This list is a set of substitutions I've made for parts in the BOM. I've made sure to steer clear of conflict materials (see note 2). Luckily, most parts are all clean substitutes to other parts by the same manufacturer, and don't require footprint changes.

- Note 1: These capacitors are affected by the withdrawal, but the stock levels at Mouser, etc. are still significant as of Feb. 2026.
- Note 2: The
CXvariant of the same cap is still stocked, whereas theHXis completely out at the time of writing (where the difference only appears to be longevity/temperature rating). Panasonic's only suggested replacements that match the footprint use tantalum 👎 , so theCXis likely the best short-term option without requiring board changes.
