command-line submission shows password in plain text

I'm concerned that command-line submission displays a daitss operators password on the system in plain text. An example:

 d2core    2460 21754  0 17:03 pts/14   00:00:00 /bin/sh /opt/fda/bin/submit --username childree --password D2t3st! --batch WMANM2747053 --note This package was submitted by UF via external HD (MDL/N: WD1600I032-001, S/N: WMANM7285577) on 11/29/2010. This might not be a huge issue, but I wonder if there's any way around this.
