Use case 1: In situations where the facility is open and is already at capacity therefore no appointments are available, many shippers want the ability to communicate to carriers how to proceed. "How to proceed" will vary by shipper. For example, some may allow the carrier to schedule the next available date/time and some may want the carrier to contact the facility before scheduling for the next available appointment. To accomodate, dock configuration settings allow a shipper to set a message that is visible to carriers when no appointment is available. These messages are free text with a character limit.

Use case 2: The transport order's schedule falls on a date that the facility is not open. Within the UI, a message is displayed to the carrier that the location is not open for the date that they are requesting.
